Den is a part of the generation of design professionals instrumental in Miami's renaissance as a major multi-cultural metropolis; infusing fresh ideas, modern design, and an environmental conscious into the city. The partners have designed more than 16 million square feet of architecture worth 3 billion dollars, and received multiple design awards.

Germán Brun — AIA, LEED-AP

As a graduate from UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design, Germán has been involved with sustainable design for more than 15 years. His architectural experience started with DMJM Keating and Perkins + Will, where he became the very first LEED Accredited Professional at the firm, serving as a liaison with renowned environmental designers Battle McCarthy, ARUP, and Busby & Associates. As Partner and Director of Sustainable Design at Oppenheim Architecture + Design, Germán intervened in more than a dozen sustainably designed projects throughout the world, working alongside consulting firms that are among the international top tier in sustainable design, such as Büro Happold and RWDI.

Germán has a strong commitment and proven track record in environmental stewardship with acheivements including the John K. Branner Travelling Fellowship, the US Department of State's William J. Fulbright Fellowship Program, AIA Environmental Preservation Award and the City of Miami's Green Commission. Germán served as Co-founder, Board of Directors, and Programs Chair at the South Florida Chapter of the US Green Building Council for several years. Currently, he is Adjunct Professor of Architecture at both Florida International University and University of Miami and lectures regularly at conferences, symposiums, and speaking engagements around the world.

Lizmarie Esparza — LEED-AP

Born in Puerto Rico, Lizmarie's academic interests earned her a Bachelor's degree from famed Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Master of Architecture from ivy-league Columbia University. She is both a registered Architect with the State of Florida and a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional by the US Green Building Council. As an advocate of sustainable design and green building, she devises site analysis and bio-climatic strategies that are integrated within the design process. As Partner at Oppenheim Architecture + Design, Lizmarie had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including urban scale developments, timeshare facilities, mixed-use condominium buildings, hospitality feasibility studies, and single family residences. The geographical range of her work varies from the East Coast to the Caribbean, and most recently in the Middle East, where projects for the region's major developers such as Emaar, Omniyat, and Mubadala are required to comply with green building standards.

Having travelled throughout the world, she has a global perspective on environmental and social issues. Active in humanitarian endeavors, Lizmarie volunteers at Habitat for Humanity (HFH) and Architecture for Humanity (AFH). She has been involved in worldwide and local design challenges, while promoting the environmental, social, and financial value of urban neighborhood gardens.
